What frequencies do Cliptalk operate on? 

Cliptalk operates on FRS frequencies, 462-467 MHz. They will communicate with other FRS and GMRS radios, including the Midland LXT, GXT, and XTalker series. Cliptalk also offers 121 privacy codes, configurable through the app. 

Does Cliptalk require a license? 

No, Cliptalk is a license-free radio! 

What is the power output? 

Cliptalk has a power output of 0.3 watts. This makes them perfect for small business, event managing, sport officiating, outdoor activities, and more! 

What is the range? 

Cliptalk can reach up to 1 mile with no obstructions.

What are the main features of Cliptalk? 

Midland's Cliptalk has many features, including Active Noise Canceling (ANC), Crystal-Clear Sound Quality, Clip-Anywhere Design, FRS and GMRS Compatibility, and VOX Hands-Free. 

How do I turn on the Cliptalk unit? 

To turn on the Cliptalk unit, press and hold the "Select" button for 3 seconds. The display will turn on and show the battery icon and channel number. If there is no activity for 5 seconds, the display will turn off. When there is no activity, the bottom segment on the battery icon will flash every 5 seconds to indicate that the unit is active. 

What headset options are available for Cliptalk? 

Currently, we just offer the standard over-the-ear earpieces. We will have a surveillance and deluxe-comfort earpieces soon! 

Can I use my own USB-C headsets with Cliptalk? 

No, Cliptalk is a non-standard connection, so you can only use the Midland Cliptalk accessories. 

What is the battery life? 

Cliptalk features up to 8 hours of battery life on a single charge. The radios are USB-C rechargeable. You can charge directly from the device itself. 

How long does it take to recharge via USB-C? 

It takes 1.5 hours to recharge a fully dead Cliptalk battery. 

How much does each radio weigh? 

Each unit weighs 1 once. It has dimensions of 2.5” L x 1” W x .5” D . 

Is Cliptalk Waterproof? 

No, Cliptalk is not waterproof. 

Do I have to use the app? 

No, you can use Cliptalk devices without connecting to the app. However, to adjust any of the menu settings or privacy codes, you will need to connect the device to the app. 

How do I connect the devices to the app? 

To connect with the Midland Two-Way radio app, you must place your ClipTalk radio into Programming Mode.
To place your ClipTalk radio into Programming Mode:
• Assure that your ClipTalk radio is powered on.
• Press and hold both the + and – keys on your ClipTalk until you see a series of 3 dots moving counter counterclockwise on the display.
• At this time, your radio is discoverable with the Midland Two-Way Radio app. 

When the ClipTalk is connected to the Midland app, the ClipTalk will display a flashing cross symbol
