Powering the Radio
You can operate the 75-822 in two ways:
Mobile Use
Plug the DC cigarette lighter adapter into your vehicle’s 12V power outlet.
Connect the adapter to the radio.
Attach an external CB antenna (magnet-mount recommended).
Portable Use
Insert six AA batteries into the alkaline battery pack.
Attach the battery pack to the radio.
Connect the detachable antenna.
Note: Rechargeable NiMH packs are optional and must be charged externally.
Antenna Options
Handheld whip antenna for portable use.
Mobile magnet-mount antenna (recommended for in-vehicle use).
External base station antenna can be connected for maximum range.
Always ensure antennas are properly tuned and SWR is within safe limits.

Operation
Turning On/Off
Press and hold PWR until the radio powers on.
Repeat to turn off.
Selecting a Channel
Use UP/DOWN buttons to move through channels 1–40.
Instant Channels
Press CH9/19 for quick access to emergency (9) or highway (19).
NOAA Weather Radio
Press WX to enter weather mode.
Use UP/DOWN to select one of 10 NOAA channels.
When enabled, the weather alert function will notify you of severe weather.
Transmitting
Hold the radio upright.
Press PTT (Push-to-Talk) and speak clearly into the microphone.
Release to listen.
Squelch Adjustment
Rotate squelch knob until background noise disappears.
Set just above the noise level for best results.
Memory Channels
Store up to 5 favorite channels for quick recall.
Press MEM + channel number to save.
Press MEM to cycle through stored channels.
Scanning
Press SCAN to cycle through all 40 channels.
Stops automatically on active channels.
Press again to resume scanning.
Troubleshooting
