Powering the ER210
USB Charging
- Use the provided USB charge cable.
- Connect the micro-USB to the port labeled “USB In” on the side of the radio.
- Connect the USB to a power source.
- The CHARGE indicator will light up.
- The battery icon on the LCD will flash while charging.
- A full charge (3 battery bars) takes approximately 5.5 hours.
Rechargeable Battery
- The radio is powered by a 3.7 VDC, 2,200 mAh lithium-ion battery.

Warnings:
- Only use Midland’s Li-ion battery pack.
- Do not attempt to charge alkaline batteries or other incompatible battery types.
Dynamo Crank Charging
- Turn the hand crank to charge the battery.
- The CHARGE indicator will light up while cranking.
- The LCD battery icon will flash during charging and stop flashing when fully charged.
Solar Panel Charging
- Place the ER210 in direct sunlight.
- The battery icon will flash during charging.
- The CHARGE indicator will light up when solar charging is active.
- Full battery icon indicates a complete charge.
Charging External Devices
- Connect mobile phones or USB-powered devices to the USB Out port.
- When a device is connected:
- The radio automatically turns off and switches to charge mode.
Operating the Radio
Power On/Off and Band Selection
- Power On: Press the Band button.
- Select Band: Press Band button to cycle through AM, FM, and Weather (WX) bands.
- Power Off: Press and hold the Band button for 2 seconds.
Adjusting Volume
- Use the Volume Up/Down buttons to set audio level.
Tuning
- Use the Tune Up/Down buttons to adjust frequencies.
- Hold to auto-scan to the next active station.
- For best FM and WX reception, fully extend and adjust the telescopic antenna.
Using the Weather Radio
NOAA/NWS Weather Bands
- Coverage range: Up to 50 miles depending on location and weather conditions.
- Best reception:
- Extend the telescopic antenna.
- Position near windows if indoors.

Selecting a Weather Channel
- Press the Band button to enter WX mode.
- Use Tune buttons to select the strongest local weather channel.
Weather Alert Function
- Press the WX Alert button to activate.
- The WX icon will flash when active.
- When a weather alert is received:
- Audible siren sounds.
- Flashlight flashes on/off.
- LCD backlight flashes for 1 minute.
- Press any button to silence the alert and switch to the weather channel.
ER210 Settings Menu
Accessing the Menu
- Press and hold the WX Alert/Menu button for 2 seconds.
Navigation
- Use Tune buttons to adjust settings.
- Press WX Alert/Menu button to cycle through menu options.
- The menu will auto-exit after 30 seconds of inactivity.
Setting the Clock
- Select 12-hour or 24-hour clock format.
- Set hours and minutes using Tune buttons.
Backlight Options
- OFF: Backlight always off.
- ON: Backlight always on.
- Default: Backlight on for 5 seconds after button press.
Weather Channel Display Options
- Frequency: Displays weather channel frequency.
- Channel: Displays weather channel number.

Brightness Modes
- First press: Dim mode
- Second press: Bright mode
SOS Morse Code Flashlight Beacon
- Press the flashlight button three times to activate SOS signal.
- Flash pattern: 3 short flashes, 3 long flashes, 3 short flashes.
- Press flashlight button again to turn off SOS mode.
Using the Headphone Jack
- Compatible with 1/8 inch mono or stereo plugs.
- Allows private listening with headphones (not included).
