Q: How do I program my BizTalk radios?
A: You can download the free programming software and instructions:
- BR200 Software Download
- BR200 Programming Instructions
- MB400 Software Download
- MB400 Programming Instructions
Q: My assigned frequency from the FCC is not one of the frequencies provided in the programming software - what should I do?
A: Contact Midland's Customer Service and send us the frequencies and privacy codes you want to use. We can create a data file for you to program into the radio using the software we provide on our website.
Q: Will the MB400 work with my BR200 business radio?
A: In short, yes! Both radios use the UHF frequency spectrum between 450 MHz to 470 MHz, specifically, the "On-Site Business and Industrial Band Pool" of frequencies. They are also pre-programmed to the same channels, making them compatible with each other out of the box. They are also programmable to selected business band frequencies making them compatible with other brands of on-site business radios. Programming is easy with our free software (BR200 and MB400) and step-by-step instructions. If you are already using radios in your business, check the chart below to see if your frequency is included.
Q: How does the difference in Watts effect compatibility between the MB400 and the BR200 business radios?
A: The MB400, at 4 Watts of power, will give you more coverage than radios at lower power levels. The radios are still compatible, but note that the MB400 will be able to be received by lower power radios, but they may not be able to transmit back to the MB400. However, as with any radio, as long as you are within range of the lower power radio, you will be able to transmit.
Q: Will my business radios also work with my other (FRS, GMRS, CB) Midland radios?
A: No. FRS, GMRS, etc., operate on different frequencies than the Business Band, and will not be compatible.
