Is the MB400 compatible with other business radios?

Yes. The MB400 can be programmed to communicate with most UHF business radios that operate in the 450–470 MHz range.

Compatibility Requirements:

Both radios must be UHF (not VHF, GMRS, or FRS)
Must use matching frequencies and privacy codes

Do I need an FCC license to use the MB400?

Yes. The MB400 is a business-band radio, and the FCC requires a license to operate it legally in the United States.

Can I use the MB400 with GMRS or FRS radios?

No. The MB400 uses business band UHF frequencies, while GMRS and FRS radios use a different spectrum. They are not cross-compatible.

How long does the MB400 battery last?

The MB400 includes a Li-Ion rechargeable battery (1800 mAh) that typically lasts:

What is the expected range or coverage for the MB400?

What is the output transmit power of the MB400?

4 Watts. It also has a 1 Watt low power setting.

What accessories work with the MB400?

My radio only gets static; how can I make it stop?

Try pressing the bottom button on the left-hand side. If the static stops, monitor mode was on. If that does not work, try switching the battery with a working battery from another radio. If the issue clears up, you need a new battery. Please contact support if the issue continues.

What should I do if my MB400 transmits without the button being pressed?

If the MB400 is receiving fine, but transmitting without the PTT button being pressed, it is likely that VOX was accidentally turned on. Press and hold the bottom button on the lefthand side of the radio for about 3 seconds, until the radio says “VOX OFF”.
