Preparation
Charging the Battery Pack
Charge radios before first use.
Recharge when you hear 3 quick beeps or a voice prompt indicating low battery.

PC Programming Setup
Download the BR10 programming software from the Midland BR10 product page.
Run the utility and follow on-screen prompts to install.
Use a BA1 programming cable (sold separately).
Radio and Controls
Push-to-Talk (PTT) Key – Hold and speak to transmit, release to receive.
Monitor Function Key – Hold to monitor channel activity, release to exit.
Power Switch/Volume Control
Scan Function Key – Press to start/stop scanning.
Channel Up – Increase channel number.
Channel Down – Decrease channel number.
Speaker/Microphone Jack – Connect external accessories.
Antenna
Basic Operations
Power On/Off
Turn Power/Volume knob clockwise to power on. A beep and voice prompt will announce the channel.
Turn counterclockwise to power off.
Volume
Rotate knob clockwise to increase, counterclockwise to decrease.
Channel Selection
Use Channel Up/Down keys. The radio will announce the channel number.
Transmitting
Press and hold PTT, speak normally, hold mic 1.5 in (3–4 cm) from your mouth.
If the battery is too low, the LED blinks red.
Receiving
Select the same channel (and CTCSS/DCS if enabled).
Adjust volume as needed.
Note: squelch setting affects what signals are received.

Troubleshooting

| No Power | 1. Remove/reinstall battery.2. Try charging with a known-good charger, then replace with a known-good battery if still faulty. |
