Battery Installation & Charging
Open the battery compartment latch.
Insert the supplied Li-Ion battery pack, aligning contacts.
Close and secure the latch.
Plug the supplied Micro-USB cable into the charging port; connect the other end to a computer USB port or approved USB wall adapter.
Charging Indicator: Battery icon on LCD will animate while charging; full when solid.
First charge: fully charge before use (approx. 4–6 hours).
Low Battery Alert: LCD shows low battery icon and tone will sound periodically.
Basic Operation
Power ON/OFF
Rotate Power/Volume knob clockwise until click (ON) and set desired volume.
Rotate counterclockwise until click to turn OFF.
Transmitting & Receiving
Select desired channel and privacy code.
Press and hold PTT to talk; hold mic 2–3 inches from mouth.
Release PTT to listen.
LED indicator will be red when transmitting, green when receiving.
Menu Functions (Quick Reference)
Channel Select — Choose operating channel (1–99).
Privacy Code — Select CTCSS or DCS code for interference reduction.
Call Tone — Choose one of five tones.
Vibrate Alert — On/Off.
VOX — Voice-activated transmit (with sensitivity levels).
Squelch Level — Adjust background noise suppression.
Keypad Tone — On/Off.
Weather Channel — Access NOAA channel selection.
Weather Alert — Enable/disable severe weather alerts.
TOT (Time-Out Timer) — Limit transmission time to prevent stuck mic.
Scan — Scan programmed channels.
Weather Radio Operation
Press MENU until WX channel option appears.
Use ▲/▼ to select desired NOAA channel.
Enable Weather Alert to receive automatic emergency notifications.
Cloning Radios
Connect both radios with approved cloning cable.
Set both radios to cloning mode via MENU.
Initiate clone from master radio; wait for confirmation tone.
Care & Maintenance
Clean with a soft, damp cloth — do not submerge.
Use only Midland-approved battery and accessories.
Store in a cool, dry location.
