Controls & Display
- BAND ICON – Indicates whether the radio is operating with Wideband (W) or Narrowband (N) Modulation

DUAL WATCH CHANNEL ICON – Indicates whether the channel is the Primary (A) or the secondary (B) channel during Dual Watch Mode.
- CHANNEL NUMBER – Changes from 1~50 on GMRS band (1~10 on WX band).
- CODE – Indicates Privacy Code or Group Code selected by user (oF~38 / oF~104 / 0~142). It can appear only with Ch 1~22, Repeater 15~22, or Group Mode.

WHISPER ICON – Indicates when the
Whisper feature is on.
- VOX ICON – Indicates when VOX mode is active.
- KEY LOCK ICON – Indicates KEY LOCK mode is on.
- DUAL WATCH ICON – Indicates when the Dual Watch mode is on.
- BATTERY METER – Indicates the battery level.
- GROUP MODE ICON – Indicates when the Group Mode is on.
- TRANSMIT POWER LEVEL ICON – Indicates TX Power setting High, Medium, or Low (H/M/L).
- PRIVACY CODE ICON – Indicates Privacy Code setting (CTCSS/ DCS).
- TRANSMIT (TX) / RECEIVE (RX) ICON – Indicates radio is transmitting (TX) a signal, or radio is receiving (RX) a transmission.
- VIBRATE ALERT ICON – Indicates when the Vibrate-Alert feature is on.
- REPEATER ICON – Indicates when the current channel is a Repeater channel.
- NOAA WEATHER (WX) BAND ICON – Indicates when the radio is in Weather Band mode or Weather Alert is enabled in GMRS mode

- POWER/VOLUME KNOB – Turn clockwise to turn the power on and increase the volume level. Turn counter-clockwise to decrease the volume level and turn the power off.
- PTT Button – Press and hold to transmit voice communication.
- CALL / LOCK Button – Press to send a CALL Alert signal. Press and hold to turn KEY LOCK on/off.
- DOWN / SOS SIREN Button – Use to scroll through Menu options. Press and hold for 3 seconds to activate the SOS Siren.

Power & Battery
Operates on rechargeable Li-ion battery pack or 4 AA alkaline batteries

Battery Tips:
Remove from charger when full
Avoid extreme heat or cold

Basic Operation
Turning On/Off & Volume:
Rotate Power/Volume knob clockwise to power on & increase volume; counterclockwise to decrease or turn off.
Transmitting:
Hold PTT, speak clearly into mic, release to listen.
Receiving:
Release PTT; RX icon appears when a signal is received.
Menu Settings
Press MENU to cycle through options. Use ▲/▼ to change values, press PTT to save.
Channel Select: MENU once → choose channel (1–50)
Privacy Codes: MENU twice → choose CTCSS (oF–38) or MENU three times → DCS (oF–104)
VOX: MENU until VOX → select sensitivity 1–9 or off
Call Alert: MENU until CA → select tone (1–10)
Vibrate Alert: MENU until vibrate icon → on/off
Roger Beep: MENU until rb → on/off
Silent Operation: MENU until bP → on/off
Dual Watch: MENU until du → select channel for dual monitoring
Power Level: MENU until Pr → High/Med/Low
NOAA Weather Radio
To Access: Press WX to enter weather mode.
To Scan: Hold ▲ for 5 seconds to scan all 10 NOAA channels.
Weather Alerts: In WX mode, press MENU twice → AL on/oF.
Scan & Monitor
Scan: Press SCAN to search all channels; pauses 5 seconds on activity.
Monitor: Hold MONITOR to open squelch and hear weak signals.
