If you're using your Midland WR120 weather radio without the AC adapter, battery life will vary depending on the type of AA alkaline batteries you use and how you operate the radio.
Battery Runtime Estimates
Using basic or lower-cost AA alkaline batteries:
- Standby Mode (receiving alerts only): Up to 2 days
- Continuous NOAA Weather Broadcast (at full volume): Up to 12 hours
Using higher-quality or name-brand AA alkaline batteries:
- Standby Mode (receiving alerts only): Up to 3 days
Continuous NOAA Weather Broadcast (at full volume): Up to 15.5 hours
Tip: For best performance and emergency readiness, we recommend using high-quality alkaline batteries and keeping your WR120 plugged in with the AC adapter when possible.
